January 2012 NewsletterHappy New Year to everyone! Hope you had a restful Christmas holiday season and are roaring to go for the year of 2012. We are starting 2012 off with a great surprise! We are introducing a new frequent shopper rewards program called Terry Bucks. The neat thing about this program is you will be the determining factor regarding how much you receive in rewards. Let me explain…. We now have an old library card catalog located in the front of the store. When you visit us you will fill out a Terry Bucks card. Each time you make a purchase from the store we will fill in one block with the total amount you spent, excluding state sales tax. To keep our life simple your purchase WILL include sale items, however, classes, clubs, sewing machines, gift certificates, retreats, and Block of the Month programs will be excluded. When your card is full, with six blocks filled in, you will receive a special Gift Certificate for 10% of the amount you have spent to be used on your next visit to the store. The more you spend the bigger your reward! You will be responsible for pulling your own card and presenting it to be marked at the time of sale, plus keeping up with your Gift Certificate once it has been issued. As with all of our Gift Certificates there will be no expiration date, however, we ask you to please use it within a reasonable amount of time. How cool is this program? We are inviting you to visit the store this month and fill out your new card. We will introduce you to the filing cabinet and let you get a peek at the drawer in which your card will be filed. You don’t even have to buy anything. You can just get your card on file with us for future use. One of the most fun things for us at the shop is watching our customers unveil a new project they have completed. Obviously, you can’t all be here to see this. So to remedy that problem, our second surprise is that we have purchased a 10 ½” digital photo frame. We would like to take pictures when you visit us and load them onto our frame. We have a few already but would love to have more. So, please bring in your projects and let us photograph them to “share” on our new frame. We have some brand new items available at the store for purchase that I am certain you would like to know about. One is our own Lone Star Quiltworks shop pin! We have had our shop logo stamped in gold letters on a small quilter’s pin. Red and blue flying geese surround the gold lettering. We are very proud of this pin and hope you will want one for yourself and a few of your closest buddies. We have also added Wooly Nylon to our thread line up for those you who are serger fanatics. Wooly Nylon is perfect for a tiny rolled hem that can be used for clothing, dinner napkins, tablecloths, etc. Our display holds twelve basic colors. If this sells well, I will be happy to bring in more colors. Watch for a coming announcement concerning our visit from a national Baby Lock educator over the weekend of April 20th and 21st. Classes will be held to feature our sergers and stabilizer products.
Are you looking for a small gift for that quilting/sewing buddy? We have added a 15” X 15” portable pressing mat, which is just perfect to use for that travel project in a motel setting or at retreat. Another small gift is our purse sized lint remover. There are 50 sticky papers on each pad. A great way to “delint” before you go out of the house.
I will be sending out info shortly about our July Quilter’s Quest #2 Bus Weekend. We will be off to six shops again with an overnight stay in Austin. Dates are July 14th and 15th so please mark your calendars. Only 40 seats will be available and these will go fast. Cost will be $160.00 per person. Watch for another email soon!
Our classes are up and running for the spring semester. (Please see the website listed below). Deb has our new Baby Lock Crown Jewel up and running, our Dear Jane Club is up and running as of yesterday, and our Morris Meadows Block of the Month starts running in two weeks. Why aren’t you running too? You know, exercise is all the rage after the first of the year. So, run on down to Lone Star Quiltworks. You will be glad you did, and we will be glad to see you!
